Joncryl® OH 8710

A new hydroxy functional acrylic dispersion for waterborne two-component (WB 2K) polyurethane topcoat applications.

Joncryl OH 8710, a new hydroxy functional acrylic dispersion for waterborne two-component (WB 2K) polyurethane topcoat applications. This new product produces a coating with high gloss and great dry film build while providing excellent chemical resistance and outstanding weather resistance.

Joncryl OH 8710 can be incorporated with either hydrophobic or hydrophilically modified polyisocyanates. The technology used in Joncryl OH 8710 allows for high compatibility of hydrophobic isocyanates, even at hand mixing conditions. With a minimum film-forming temperature (MFFT) of ~44°C, a solids content of 46%, and a low viscosity (<200 cps), the finished topcoat can be easily spray applied with excellent leveling and appearance. When combined with an appropriate crosslinker, the finished coating is near solvent-free with less isocyanate demand than the standard resin while outperforming the existing benchmark topcoat across all main market performance attributes including gloss level, weathering resistance and film hardness without impact to pot-life, cure speed or durability.

Joncryl OH 8710 allows you to convert your formulated topcoat away from traditional solventborne 2K polyurethane systems that contain high levels of VOCs and solvents toward a WB 2K formulation that offers lower VOC capability without sacrificing performance results.
